Castelli in Aria: final de proiect

The European project „Castelli in Aria” officially comes to an end this month. It was an important initiative implemented in the Municipality of Pietramelara within the framework of the CERV – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme, under the Town Twinning Action, with the support of the European Commission.

The event took place from 24 to 27 October 2025 and hosted more than 100 participants from Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, as well as Italy, transforming Pietramelara into a place of dialogue, friendship, cultural exchange, and international cooperation.

Throughout the four days of activities, European citizens, associations, local authorities, young people, and stakeholders had the opportunity to engage in discussions and exchanges on topics such as European citizenship, solidarity, social inclusion, and the development of local communities.

Implementarea proiectului

The Cast-Sky initiative was implemented over a one-year period and was structured into three main phases: planning, implementation, and follow-up.
During the planning phase, all partners worked together to define the project objectives, methodologies, roles, timetable, monitoring tools, and cooperation arrangements. Preparatory activities included participant selection, preparation of facilitators and experts, development of information materials, and planning of intercultural activities.
The implementation phase took place over four days and involved approximately 150 participants from the partner countries, as well as local citizens, associations, and stakeholders.

Activitățile proiectului

Session 1 – Arrival focused on welcoming participants, presenting the project and the CERV programme, and conducting ice-breaking, team-building, and team-working activities. These activities helped participants get to know each other, create a positive group atmosphere, and actively engage in the project.

Session 2 – European Dream: Visions from Countries included workshops, debates, and intercultural exchange activities. Participants reflected on stereotypes and perceptions related to the different countries involved and discussed topics such as European citizenship, inclusion, peace, democracy, and active participation. The session strengthened intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding.

Session 3 – Solidarity Village was dedicated to solidarity, volunteering, and social inclusion.
Through meetings with local organisations and testimonies from young people involved in the European Solidarity Corps, participants explored the value of civic engagement and community involvement.

Session 4 – Castles in the Sky represented the core activity of the project. Children, young people, families, and local citizens took part in creative workshops centred on the theme “The World I Would Like”. Through brainstorming sessions and artistic activities, participants created artworks expressing their dreams, ideas, and visions for the future. The works were later presented during a public event in the historic village of Pietramelara, encouraging active community participation and public visibility.

Session 5 – Final Results and Follow-up focused on project evaluation, collection of results, and discussion of future cooperation opportunities. Through questionnaires, reflection activities, and group discussions, participants assessed the impact of the project and identified possible follow-up initiatives.
Overall, the project successfully achieved its objectives by promoting active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, solidarity, and European values. It also strengthened cooperation among partner organisations and generated good practices that can be replicated in other local and European contexts.
